How to View a Course as a Student
Need to see what your students experience in your course? Pdgogy.ai™ offers two ways to view your course from the student perspective.
Two Methods to Choose From
Method 1: Log in as a specific student - See exactly what one student sees, including their progress and submissions
Method 2: Use student mode in the course - Quick preview of the general student experience without logging in as someone
Method 1: Log In As a Student
This method lets you view the course exactly as a specific student would see it, including their individual progress.
Step 1: Go to Your Home Page
Log in and navigate to your home page.
Step 2: Access the Users Tab
Hover over the "Users" tab in the left-hand toolbar and click on "Learners"
Step 3: Select the Student
Click on the name of the student you wish to view as.
Step 4: Log In As User
Click on the "log in as user" button found near the bottom right side of the screen.
Step 5: Choose Your View Mode
Select either:
- "Update mode" - Log in using update mode, which updates the login and completion histories
- "Stealth mode" - Log in using stealth mode, which does NOT update the login or completion histories
Choose the description that best fits your needs.
Step 6: You're Now Logged In
You're now viewing the course as that student. To return to your instructor account, click logout in the top right corner.
Important: Remember to log out to return to your own account when finished.
Method 2: Use Student Mode in the Course
This is a faster way to preview the student experience without logging in as a specific student.
Step 1: Enter Your Course
Go into the course you want to see from the student's view.
Step 2: Click "View as Learner"
Hover over the "admin" button on the top left-hand toolbar and click on "view as learner"
Step 3: Choose Preview Option
Select:
- "View the course as learner" - General student view, OR
- Select a specific student to view the course as them
Step 4: Return to Instructor View
To go back to instructor view, click the "view as instructor" icon found in the left-hand toolbar.
